CareAllies Clinical Pharmacist – Texas (Rio Grande Valley)

What you’ll do The CareAllies clinical pharmacist will play a key role in executing on our strategic priorities focused on unlocking value and quality for physicians by reducing complexity of care and elevating clinical results.
You will support academic detailing activities, and process interventions, based on practice-level data, trends and identified opportunities.
Inclusive of, but not limited to: Partnering with provider groups, and educating primary care physicians, nurses and other clinical staff to assist them on their conversion to value-based care Dissemination and support of performance data mainly centered on medication utilization trends intended to improve care for the patient population served by these physicians Participate in quality improvement programs, and initiatives driven by clinical needs, such as medication adherence enhancement efforts and evidence based prescribing This role will collaborate closely with the CareAllies clinical team to support polychronic condition management through comprehensive medication reviews and address drug therapy problems in partnership with client physicians.
This individual will also successfully grow strategic relationships with leadership both internally within CareAllies and externally with physician group clients and health plans.
Expected to attend and present at provider-facing meetings which occur regularly throughout the year.
These meetings often require travel and are scheduled in the evenings after our physician partners are done with patient care activities.
Provide clinical support, in partnership with the CareAllies team, in activities with health plan representatives in which we serve as an extension of the physician organization clients we support Support the CareAllies Managed Care Pharmacy Graduate Year (PGY-1) residency program.
Serve in the capacity of clinical preceptor to provide oversight of pharmacy resident(s) and/or pharmacy student(s).
Duties as assigned.
In-Person Description & Travel Expectations: This role is classified at Cigna as in-person role, and more specifically as Stakeholder Location-Aligned.
This means employees with this designation are expected to work in-person more than half of their time per week, with flexibility to work from home for the balance of their time.
In-person time spent at a local Cigna office or at a stakeholder location both count towards meeting this expectation.
Exact schedule will be established with your manager.
The Rio Grande Valley (RGV) area description consist of the Brownsville, Harlingen, Weslaco, Pharr, McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, and San Juan metropolitan areas in Texas.
If you reside in the RGV area, you will satisfy the in-person weekly requirement by either working from the Cigna office located at 222 E Van Buren Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550, or by meeting with CareAllies physician clients within a 50-mile radius of this office location.
If you do not reside in RGV area, you would mainly satisfy the in-person weekly requirement by working from a regional Cigna office in your area.
You would be expected to travel to the RGV area at least once a month to work from the Cigna office located at 222 E Van Buren Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550.
This monthly trip will often include in-person CareAllies physician client engagements within a 50-mile radius of this office, and these additional activities will likely require you to spend at least one night in this area.
Every other month this trip would likely require at least a two-night stay due to meet the expectations from our provider client.
You will also be supporting a CareAllies physician client in El Paso.
Many of the interactions with the El Paso physician clients and CareAllies team will be virtual.
You will be expected to travel to the El Paso area at least once a quarter.
You would be expected to work from the Cigna office located at 10705 Gateway West El Paso, TX 79935 or meet with physician clients within a 50-mile radius of this office during this trip.
These trips will likely require at least one night stay in this area.
Physician client engagements for this role most often occur in the evening between the hours of 5 and 8 pm in collaboration with the broader CareAllies team.
Applicants should anticipate such engagements to occur at least four times monthly in a combination of in-person and virtual options.
Ideal Candidate: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.

Registered in good standing pharmacy license in Texas is required.
Professional experience in managed care or in ambulatory care of 3+ years.
Completion of a ASHP accredited Pharmacy PGY1 Residency program.
Professional pharmacy practice experience with the patient population in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a timely fashion.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and continue to operate effectively.
Effectively builds informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization.
Very strong communication skills to convey clear understanding of unique needs to different audiences.
Ensure tasks are prioritized appropriately to effectively and efficiently accomplish objectives and goals Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft office platforms word, excel, and power point.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 111,900 - 186,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
