Line Cook
Duties:
- Prepare ingredients and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Clean and maintain work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
Experience:
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Skills:
- Bussing: Ability to clear tables and clean dining areas efficiently
- Upselling: Knowledge of menu items to suggest additional items or upgrades to customers
- Food service: Understanding of proper serving techniques and customer interaction
- Food industry: Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Sanitation: Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean work environment
- POS (Point of Sale): Experience using POS systems for order entry and payment processing
- Restaurant: Understanding of restaurant operations, including teamwork, communication, and customer service
- Food preparation: Proficiency in preparing ingredients, cooking techniques, and plating presentations
- Food safety: Adherence to food safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food quality
- Basic math: Ability to perform basic calculations for recipe measurements, portioning, and inventory management
